On Par with Chad
September is here and the kids are finally back in school. The good news is that we all get to enjoy another six to eight weeks of warm weather. The bad news is that the new school year tends to put added financial pressure on most families.
In addition to shoes, clothes and school supplies, many parents also have to come up with the funds to pay for extracurricular activities, like music and sports. Those pay-to-play fees can be burdensome, but nowhere near as challenging as saying, “no” to the pleading eyes of a child who wants to be on the football team or master the clarinet.
The reality is that some kids just aren’t able to play. Or, kids who want to take things to a higher level with traveling sports, gymnastics, dance academies and so forth.
